COFFEE DAY TODAY
I LOVE COFFEE |
It may amaze you that why the name of my blog is "Cookies and Cold Coffee". The reason is, i like cookies but I LOVE COFFEE.
In India, tea is the main beverage of most of the population. Coffee is the beverage of mainly the southern part of India.
We are taught in economics that tea and coffee are substitute goods and when prices fluctuate, people change their preferences. But i don't think so. I don't think that tea or coffee drinkers ever change their preferences. At least i don't switch over!
Researchers have given many views on coffee- good as well as bad. One research says that if you drink a cup of coffee everyday then you can get away with certain types of cancer. Another research says that coffee stays in your digestive system for a week, which is bad.
I don't know whom to believe but i know one thing that anything in excess is bad for health. So do drink coffee but not too much of it. I drink coffee only once in a week, that's my way by which i drink coffee in moderation. I would like to suggest everyone to drink coffee in moderation, and for that matter not only coffee, but everything you consume.
Coffee can also be compared to life. Coffee is bitter and sweet at the same time just like our life which has happiness and sadness at the same time. And i think that if we don't know about the bitter things in life we may not be able to enjoy a cup of cold coffee.
I read an sms the other day "Sometimes we struggle with a tasteless coffee till the last sip and then we find sugar lying at the bottom, That's Life, Sweetened but not stirred well." This is a very nice comparison of life with coffee.
Today 29th September is International Coffee Day (also known as Coffee Day or National Coffee Day). While the exact origin of Coffee is unknown, many countries in the world participate in this event. International Coffee Day was promoted in Japan by The All Japan Coffee Association and was first celebrated in 1983. The name ' International Coffee Day' originates in the United States, which was mentioned publicly in 2005.
And i read some articles today on coffee day celebrations. In some countries, McDonald's have given free cup of coffee to its customers while some coffee shops had various discount offers, etc. on coffee. The world is rejoicing and so should we.
I take up this opportunity to wish all of you a HAPPY COFFEE DAY! Go enjoy a cup of coffee!
